Sensibilisation à la santé mentale

ArcelorMittal

According to the World Health Organization, around 11% of the world population suffers from mental disorders, and the pressure is not easing. ArcelorMittal's Chief HR Officer saw this reflected in post-pandemic employee surveys, where mental health had become a significant concern for managers balancing heavier workloads with responsibility for their teams.

Un défi RH pour ArcelorMittal

ArcelorMittal operates in highly competitive markets shaped by economic conditions, and the Chief HR Officer decided one of the priorities was training different levels of management to better cope with stress and reduce the risk factors for burnout and mental health issues, both for themselves and their teams.

Comment nous avons soutenu ArcelorMittal

La durée

The program ran over eight weeks, with one live one-hour session per week. It launched with two pilot cohorts for senior managers before expanding across the organization into a total of 12 cohorts.

Contenu

Each week covered a different theme aimed at improving participants' mental wellbeing, including understanding mental patterns, identifying personal stressors, and selecting concrete actions to implement in their professional lives. Small groups of around 15 managers worked through the program together, reaching approximately 180 managers across Luxembourg and other European offices, including Paris. Recordings were made available for anyone who missed a live session.

Langues

The program was delivered in English and French, limited to a maximum of 15 participants per group to keep sessions interactive and personalized.

Comment avons-nous procédé ?

There is homework between each session, and every participant receives a learning journal to take notes and define a personal action plan. Following overwhelmingly positive feedback from the two pilot cohorts, participants themselves recommended expanding the program, and ArcelorMittal rolled it out across the organization. It is a highly interactive format where participants share their findings, experiences, and practices, and can interact with the trainers for guidance.

Les avantages pour ArcelorMittal

Participants have reported that the program helped them better understand their mental patterns and manage stress, both with practical techniques they could use on the spot and with an increased ability to question unhelpful thoughts. What started as a two-cohort pilot became a twelve-cohort program spanning Luxembourg and other European offices.
